Brainard visits HHS industrial tech students
Nick Brainard was almost assured a job before he completed his school at Dunwoody College of technology. The 2003 Hastings High School graduate was enrolled in a program that has 100 percent placement.
That was part of what he told current industrial technology students in Dave Davenport's classes at Hastings High School recently. He is part of the group of former students that Davenport invites back to speak to his current students.
"This always motivates present students to get moving with applying for college," said Davenport.
Brainard attended Dunwoody College of Technology for two years during which time he completed the Electrical Construction Design and Management Course. It is a very successful program as many students have jobs before they graduate.
He is employed by Michaud Cooley Erickson and is an associate in electrical engineering. His job includes meeting with clients and then designing and overseeing the electrical planning and installation of wiring into buildings such as hospitals and airports.
Brainard is married and lives in Minneapolis.
