Body identified as woman missing from Davenport, Iowa
The Hennepin County Medical Examiners has confirmed the identity of the body found last Saturday in Ravenna Township. The body is that of Carrie Elaine Olson, 29, of Davenport, Iowa. She was reported missing more than three months ago.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are continuing their investigation into what happened to Olson. The cause and manner of her death remain under investigation.
Olson's body was found in a wooded area on Presley Circle north of 175th Street East in Ravenna Township, which is about seven miles south of Hastings. This location is in rural Dakota County.
At the time the body was discovered by the landowner, it appeared she had been there less than 36 hours.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office had released a description of the body in seeking the public's help.
According to the Davenport, Iowa Police Department, its department began looking for Olson when she failed to show up for work Dec. 30. She was seen pumping gas at a 7-Eleven Store in Davenport shortly after 4 p.m. Dec. 29. About 3:30 a.m. the following, she was again seen at the convenience store.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause of death and the investigation continues with assistance from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
