Biker run is in memory of Merriett Maul, Jr.
The family of Merriett Maul, Jr., is hosting a benefit Biker Run on Saturday, July 28.
The benefit is held in memory of Maul, "our fantastic husband, father, Poppo, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, friend, car mechanic, handyman, sunbathing/beach buddy, but most of all, a High Life drinking, fun-loving Harley driving man," according to the family.
The family lost Maul on June 26 in Prescott, Wis., after his tragic fall from a dock in the St. Croix River. All proceeds from the Biker Run will be given to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department to purchase side scan sonar in hopes of helping other families in need. Maul's family and friends want to show appreciation to Deputy Brad Verges, a recreation safety officer, and his crew and diving team for all their hard work and dedication.
The Biker Run will begin at Johnny Angel's in Dennison. Sign-in is at 11 a.m. July 28 with the kick-off at noon. Stops include The Bar in Hastings; Muddy Waters in Prescott, Wis.; Naughty Hog in Diamond Bluff, Wis.; the Black Stallion in Hampton; and a return to Johnny Angel's in Dennison. Bikers are welcome to join in at any stop. A $25 donation is requested.
The band "Priceless" will perform starting at 5 p.m. There will also be a silent auction and raffle and food and beer specials. Donations are also accepted at Farmers State Bank in Dennison.
