Bielema promotes two to fill vacancies
University of Wisconsin Head Football Coach Bret Bielema promoted two of his assistants Friday.
Co-defensive coordinator Dave Doeren will hold the job by himself after Mike Hankwitz was let go. Doeren will continue as the Badgers' recruiting coordinator.
Run game coordinator Bob Bostad becomes the new offensive line coach, replacing Bob Palcic who left for UCLA. Bostad will also stay in his previous post.
Bielema said he hired Bostad and Doeren with the idea they would move into new jobs at some point and he said both are ready to take on their extra responsibilities.
Bielema also said he would look for two new assistants.
Meanwhile, it is still not sure if receivers' coach Henry Mason will be able to return this year. He sat out last season after he suffered a spinal cord injury from a fall at his home last summer.
