Attempted assault leads to charge
Hastings Police have charged Robin David Reed, 27, Hastings, with one count of terroristic threats and one count of assault in the fifth degree following a Nov. 11 incident in Hastings. Police had responded to the residence on the report than an assault was in progress and that one individual had a knife.
When police talked to several individuals at the scene, all said Reed, along with another male, had come into the residence and attacked a resident. All said Reed had a knife. The victim said that Reed tried to attack him with the knife. The witnesses said that Reed and the other male punched the victim and slammed him into a wall. Reed fled the scene, but was later apprehended.
In a statement to officers, Reed said he had been threatened by the victim, but did not provide any additional information.
