Athletic opportunities exist for adults and kids
The Hastings area offers a variety of recreational sports for adults and youth. Both the Hastings Parks and Recreation Department and the Hastings Youth Athletic Association provide sports for all ages.
During all seasons, the Parks and Recreation Department offers many sports.
Adult Basketball (five-on-five), Co-ed and Men's Broomball (six-on-six) and Adult Hockey (four-on-four)
Men's, Women's and Co-ed Slow Pitch Softball; Adult Disc Golf and Indoor Adult Soccer
Co-ed Kickball, 18-and-Under Girl's Softball, 16-and-Under Girl's Softball
Men's, Women's and Co-ed Slow Pitch Softball, Flag Football (four on four)
To sign up for any of these sports or for more information, contact Jared Flewellen or stop at the Hastings Parks and Recreation Department. The office is located at 920 W. 10th St. in Hastings. The Hastings Youth Athletic Association also offers a number of sports for youngsters.
The HYAA offers baseball, t-ball and softball and soccer leagues for all ages.
There are a number of different volleyball leagues in Hastings for adults, along with tennis. Check the Star Gazette for information and standings, as sign-up information is printed before the seasons begin.
There is youth swimming in Hastings offered by the Hastings Area Swim Team (HAST). Information is printed in the Star Gazette before the seasons. Football is offered to youth through the Little Raiders Program, which begins late in the summer. Watch the Star Gazette for sign-up information about Little Raiders at the beginning of August.
