Antonette M. "Toni" Laska, age 65, of rural Wabasha, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2009, in rural Wabasha, Minn.
She was born May 18, 1944, in Hastings, Minn., the daughter of Jacob and Rosetta (Wampach) Keller. She lived in Wabasha for a few years in her youth and then moved back to Hastings. She moved back to Wabasha in 1994.
She married Robert Laska October 7, 1995, at the Kellogg United Methodist Church. She worked for Valley Craft in Lake City for a few years and for the past five years, she worked for Uni-Patch, now known as Covidien, in Wabasha.
Toni loved flowers, especially those grown by her husband, Bob. She also loved fishing, porcelain dolls and eating ice cream. She loved her family dearly and was a very proud grandma and great-grandma. To her husband, she was known as Fred.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Laska, Wabasha; daughter, Julie Froemming, Wabasha; step-sons, Jeremy (Karyn) Laska, Red Wing, Minn., Corey (Shawn) Laska, St. Louis Park, Minn., and Travis (Lacy) Laska, Wabasha; grandsons, Joshua Zeien, Cole (Malinda) Zeien and Zachary Froemming and granddaughters, Jenna Lee and London Laska; one great-grandson, Landon Zeien; brothers, Richard Keller, Kellogg, Minn., Gordy Schurhammer, Wabasha; sister, Darlene Swandby, Wabasha; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Diane George.
A funeral service was at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha, with the Reverend Dennis E. Glad officiating. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery in Wabasha. Casket bearers were Jeremy, Corey and Travis Laska, Jack and Ashley Sullivan, and Ted Keller. Friends called at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday one hour before the service.
