Anton S. Krizan, age 82, of Hastings died July 19, 2009, at the Regina Medical Center.
Anton was born February 3, 1927, in Colome, S.D., to Anton J. and Anna (Cahoy) Krizan. He served as a paratrooper during WWII and in the Army Intelligence Corp during the Korean War. Anton was a former employee of South Dakota State University, working in health education, and was currently employed at the Hastings Target Store. He was a member of the American Legion.
Anton was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings, Edward (Violet) Krizan, Sun City, Ariz., Angela (Bill) Caldwell, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ivan (Mary) Krizan, Hastings, and Bernard (Sharon) Krizan, Fredericksburg, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The Memorial Mass, with Fr. James Perkl officiating, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West 15th S., Hastings, with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment, with military honors provided by the Ft. Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad, will follow in the National Cemetery.
