Girls

The Hastings girls are led by senior Kelly Pechous, who Peine said "is usually in the top two or three every meet."

Lane Manke is "usually in the top five as well, every meet," Peine said. Manke is a junior.

Another junior, Alyssa Gerlach, is faring well. Juliann Moes, a sophomore, has also had a god start to the season.

Stillwater leads the conference standings.

Boys

As for the boys, they are led by a trio of strong skiers.

Sophomore Dustin Erickson is among the leaders.

"He has been our key on the boys side," Peine said.

Matt Hoffman, a senior, is also having a great season.

Freshman Adam Peine is the team's top point-getter thus far. He's been consistent every race.

Stillwater leads the conference standings, and Mounds View is second.

Friday

Hastings will compete at the Welch Village Invitational Friday.

"I'm really excited about that meet," Peine said. "Both our boys and our girls are skiing very well. I think we've got a pretty good shot at doing well there.

"The team has been working hard."
