Alaska dog sled presentation set
Learn about the Alaska dog sled on Friday, Dec. 7 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jim Ryder, a Wisconsin native, journeyed solo by dog team, 800 miles from Nenana to Nome, Alaska early in 2011, replicating the original Serum Run which follows part of the Iditarod Trail.
This is the route of the sled-dog relay that carried diphtheria antitoxin to Nome in 1925. Jim will share stories, images and display much of his gear as well as discuss his preparation for the adventure including dog training.
