43rd annual Project Share is set for Saturday, Dec. 1, at First National Bank
First National Bank of Hastings and KDWA Radio have been partnering together for more than 40 years to host a radiothon each holiday season. The goal is to help those in need have a happier holiday season. Residents donated pledges/cash, food, gifts during the event, which is enriched by local entertainers.
They are doing it again this year when the 43nd annual project Share radiothon is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the First National Bank of Hastings.
"It's about giving back to the community," said KDWA owner/manager Dan Massman. "It's helping people during the holidays - people who are our neighbors.
"This is our opportunity to give back," he said. "The community has been absolutely fabulous.
The musical entertainment this year will features school groups, church organizations.
Residents are invited to bring their donations - cash, pledges, gifts, nonperishable food items - to the bank. They can enjoy the entertainment and sample the refreshments. They can also call the bank at 651-437-3106 to make their pledges.
Smead Manufacturing Co. underwrites all administrative costs for the event - its gift to Project Share.
