3M grant to HFS recognizes volunteers

The 3M Foundation has donated $2,250 to Hastings Family Service in recognition of nine outstanding HFS volunteers who combined for 1,577 hours of volunteer service to HFS in 2012.

As part of the 3M Volunteer Match, the 3M Foundation will donate $250 to eligible non-profit organizations for which a 3M employee volunteers 20 hours or a 3M retiree volunteers 25 hours or more per calendar year. The nine HFS volunteers included in this Volunteer Match grant were Bob Armbruster, Bill Bollenbeck, Maryce Carl, Paul Chapman, Ken Dreher, Kathy Gergen, Norma Kimmes, Rod Olson and Marcia Richardson.

"This 3M program is a great recognition to our 3M employees and retirees who generously give their time and talents to help others," said Laurie Chapman, Hastings Family Service volunteer coordinator, "And at HFS, their dedication and hard work is priceless."

Since 2000, Volunteer Matches totaling more $4.5 million have gone to more than 2,700 schools and non-profit organizations in 50 states plus the District of Columbia. 3M Community Giving is helping to improve lives in communities around the world. Celebrating 60 years of formalized giving, 3M and the 3M Foundation have invested more than $1.2 billion in cash and products to education and charitable organizations.
