To Whom It May Concern:
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Hastings, Minnesota will meet in the City Council Chambers of Hastings City Hall, 101 4th Street E, at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, to consider the improvement project generally described herein. The City Council will receive public comments on the proposed project scope, features, and estimated costs. Such persons who desire to be heard with reference to the proposed improvements will be heard at such time and place.
Public comments regarding proposed special assessments for the 2018-1 Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvements project will be received at a separate public hearing to be held on Monday, March 5, 2018. Property owners that would be impacted by proposed assessments for the project will be mailed a separate notification.
PROJECT 2018-1, 2018 NEIGHBORHOOD INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
TOTAL PROJECT COSTS ESTIMATE = $1,630,000
This project would consist of complete street reconstruction with new base material and pavement on 6th Street from Pine Street to Maple Street, on 7th Street from Maple Street to Spring Street, on 8th Street from Maple Street to Spring Street, on 9th Street from Forest Street to Spring Street, on Walnut Street from 8th Street to 9th Street, on Forest Street from 7th Street to 8th Street, the alley between 7th Street and 8th Street west of Forest Street, the alley between 7th Street and 8th Street from Forest Street to Eddy Street, and the alley between 8th Street and 9th Street from Ashland Street to Vermillion Street. New and replacement concrete curb and gutter would be featured on all street and alley areas described above. The project would also include replacement of sidewalks in places where they already exist, as well as the extension of a new sidewalk on the southern side of 8th Street to Forest Street. Finally, the improvements would include storm sewer system extensions, repairs, and replacements to facilitate drainage of the reconstructed streets and alleys.

The total amount of the proposed assessments for this project is $569,785.79
Persons desiring to examine the exhibits and documents, including the assessment roll or persons having questions regarding project details may visit the Engineering Department at 1225 Progress Drive, or by phone at (651) 480-2334. The office hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. Copies of said exhibits and documents may be obtained by paying the cost for such materials. The proposed assessment roll is also on file for public review at the City Clerk's office, located at Hastings City Hall, 101 4th Street E, Hastings, MN.
