NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received in the office of the Denmark Township Clerk, located at the Denmark Town Hall, 14008 90th Street South, Hastings, Minnesota, until 1:00 P.M., August 3, 2009 for the provision of:

Summer Road Maintenance and Winter Road Maintenance

A bidder may bid on either the summer road maintenance contract or the winter road maintenance contract, or both. Each contract will have a three-year term. If a bidder would like to bid on both contracts, the bidder must submit a separate bid form and provide bid security for each contract. Interested bidders must contact the Town Clerk to obtain the Specifications/Bidding Instructions, the bid form and the contract.

No bid will be considered unless it is securely sealed in an envelope, labeled as "summer road maintenance" or "winter road maintenance," and received by the Town Clerk prior to the time noted above for the closing of bids.

Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security equal to $2,500.00, which shall be forfeited to Denmark Township in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract, furnish performance or payment bonds, or provide proof of adequate insurance. The bid security shall be a bid bond issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota and acceptable to the Township, or a certified check or cashier's check from a federally insured bank, payable to "Denmark Township."

If awarded either or both contracts, the bidder will be required to execute and deliver payment and performance bonds, each for an amount no less than the total estimated amount of the contract(s). The bidder will also be required to enter into contract(s) with the Township. Copies of the contract(s) are provided in the Bid Specifications.

The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities therein and to award the contracts to other than the lowest bidder if, in its discretion, the interests of the Township would be best served thereby.

The bids for both contracts will be opened and read aloud at the Denmark Town Hall on August 3, 2009 during the Town Board meeting which will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Town Board will consider awarding of the contracts at the same meeting, but may delay taking action until a later meeting.
