Wyatt's Twisted Americana replaces Celts in Hastings

For 12 years, Blaine Seeliger worked with new restaurants to help them determine their menus and their approaches.

Now, he's on the other side of the transactions.

Seeliger has left his position as a marketing representative for a food supplier and has opened Wyatt's Twisted Americana at 880 Bahls Dr. in Hastings. The bar and restaurant is located in the building formerly occupied by Celts.

His approach with the location is to offer many of those American favorites, made from scratch. Then, diners also have an option to make them "Twisted."

An example: Wyatt's takes a Certified Hereford ground chuck California burger and offers it for $7.99, including fries or a different side. The "Twisted" version would include pepper bacon and bleu cheese sauce for $8.99.

The patty melt goes for $8.99. The "Twisted" version includes balsamic glazed portabella mushrooms and havarti cheese. It is $9.99.

There are deep fried pickles, marinated steak bites and Scotch eggs on the appetizer menu. The Scotch eggs are eggs wrapped with sausage and breaded.

Several burgers are available to choose from, including a cheeseburger between two grilled cheese sandwiches.

French fries are served dusted with one of six seasonings.

There are several sandwiches to choose from and the dinner menu includes meatloaf?($10.99), a top sirloin ($12.99) and a five-cheese macaroni and cheese with pit ham for $9.99. Pork chops, fish and chips and tilapia are also on the dinner menu. There is a children's menu as well.

Seeliger said breakfast will be added soon.

He lives in Farmington and over the years had gotten to know the owner of Celts. He was eager to buy the site here and to open a concept he said he had been working on for a number of years.

"I just saw an opportunity here," Seeliger said. "I thought it was something Hastings would embrace."

Work has been done inside, with new carpet, new televisions, fresh paint and new kitchen equipment.
