Power Within Chiropractic moves, adds staff and services

When Bethanie Schatz, Doctor of Chiropractic, came to Hastings to begin her business, Power Within Chiropractic, four and one-half years ago, she had hoped to see growth and expanded services.

Mission accomplished.

About two months ago, Schatz, moved her offices to a larger location (still within the Westview Center), about two doors from her previous location. The new location, Suite 106, was part of the former County Market spot, but had remained empty for years.

With the help of Stotko-Speedling, the space has been totally renovated into separate offices, exam rooms, therapy rooms and front reception area with a row of windows.

"We just outgrew our area," said Schatz. "We wanted to serve our patients better."

She also wanted to remain at Westview Center, liking the proximity to other shopping areas.

Since Schatz opens Power within Chiropractic, she has added two massage therapists - Yelena Usacheva and Mara James - and a craniosacral therapist - Wendy Human.

Massage can help in relieving stress and anxiety, while therapeutic massage help with specific areas of the body, Schatz said.

Craniosacral therapy is a light touch applied to the craniosacral fluid (CSF) system, which is the soft tissues and fluid protecting the brain and spinal cord.

"This is effective for chronic injuries, headaches," said Schatz.

The therapy can release tensions to allow the entire body to relax and self-correct. Using a gentle touch, practitioners evaluate a person's being. They then use distinctive light-touch techniques to release any restrictions they find. It can naturally release stress and pain, strengthen a person's resistance to disease, enhance their health and well-being.

Power Within Chiropractic continues to provides the regular chiropractic services as adjustments to spine and extremities, some physical therapy and ultrasound services, stretches and exercises, and rehabilitation.

"What we are seeing now is people are coming to us with more general health questions," said Schatz. "They don't necessarily want to schedule two appointments."
