‘Skol, Vikings’ heard ‘round the Capitol
ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Vikings and their fans have something to cheer about. And they did cheer and sang “Skol, Vikings,” the team’s fight song, during a Thursday evening news conference celebrating legislative passage earlier in the day of a plan to build a new stadium for the Vikings and other events. It is to be open in 2016.

A benefit fund has been set up to help the Hastings family that lost its house, camper and truck to a fire recently. The homeowners are Nolan and Jean Appert.
Crash just north of Hastings bridge injures one person, whose truck rolled down embankment
A crash May 7 immediately north of the Hastings bridge injured at least one person and snarled traffic in both directions.

Stark is Hastings' Athena winner
Athletes like Kaitlin Stark don’t come around very often, according to her coaches at Hastings High School. Stark, this year’s Athena Award winner at HHS, is a two-sport athlete. She’s been a captain on both the hockey team and the softball team and her graduation this spring will be tough on both programs.
Hastings boys golf team wins its home tournament with a 306
A home-course advantage certainly helped the Hastings boys golf team on Monday. The Raiders won their own Don Saatzer Invitational at the Hastings Country Club, shooting a 306.
Raider girls place seventh in Forest Lake golf tournament
The Hastings girls golf team placed seventh out of 18 teams at an 18-hole invitational in Forest Lake on Monday, May 7.
